12 and Under Solo Results
The 12 and Under Solo results are in and are as follows;
Firstly, routine scores are
4th Place: Abigail Devanny 55.750
6th Place: Melissa Knapton 54.625
meaning the combined scores are;
4th Place: Abigail Devanny 57.706
6th Place: Melissa Knapton 56.196
So Abigail couldn't quite close the gap for a medal in the solo, but a fantastic effort considering she has been under the weather all weekend, and a great effort by both girls to qualify for the final 8 places.
Melissa swam a great routine as well moving up from 8th place to 6th place, cementing once again how well the routines are being swam.
More results to come for the 13 14 Duet.

First Medal Success
Congratulations to Abigail and Melissa who swam an excellent routine to take BRONZE in the 12 and Under Duet in the last competition of the day yesterday evening. Following their swim they were lying in Silver but were edged out by the Duet from Rushmoor in the last swim of the day to take the Bronze. A great result as it's the first time the duet has been swam at the English NAGs. In a late finish, past 9pm, the medals were awarded to the duet, cheered on by all the team from the sidelines.
The final routine scores were;
GOLD Bowes and Moore [Trafford] 58.500
SILVER Carpenter and Hockin [Rushmoor] 56.500
BRONZE Devanny and Knapton [City of Leeds] 55.875
A busy morning ahead with;
12 and Under Solo
13 14 Duets
15 16 17 Duets
And teams in the afternoon. Hoping to get a few more medals today so more news to follow as soon as they are posted.

12 and Under Figure Scores
More results, coming in thick and fast now,
Great result here for Abigail and Melissa, really bodes well for their duet and solo chances, we have
6 Abigail Devanny 59.661
12 Melissa Knapton 57.667
24 Rebecca Richardson 54.151
30 Scarlett Kaye 51.853
41 Molly Hughes 49.472
43 Anggita Gunawan 48.965
46 Rosie Woodward 48.431
49 Alice Scholes 47.924
So we have Abigail lying in 4th place for the solo and hopefully pushing for a bronze, AND Melissa in 8th also certainly qualifies. Rebecca is in 12th position for solos. Not sure if she will qualify or not. The are 13 slots in the programme, but I think only the top eight are qualifying. more news to follow.

13 14 Years Figure scores
Hot off the press;
24 Megan Knight 53.186
25 Alice Dewhirst 53.000

32 Isabel Scholes 51.735
37 Georgia Swinhoe 50.905
39 Evelyn Pedley 50.806

So some good scores in some good competition but unfortunately we don't have any qualifying for the solo. Megan and Alice were 11th and 12th with Rachel 13th, and Georgia 14th in the pecking order, but I believe only the top 8 go through. Keep you posted if this changes. The programme has slots for 14 swimmers, so more news to follow.

15 16 17 Figure Results
First Results in are the Junior Figure scores.
Well done to Rosie and Jess who both finished in the top 16 which is a spectacular achievement in their first yer in the age group.
15. Rosie Barrington 59.015
16. Jessica Ranson 58.991
27. Ruth Shaaw 56.227
30. Ashleigh Rowland 55.082
35. Alice Wood 54.127
At this stage it's looking doubtful if any of them qualify for their solos as only the top 8 swimmers are eligible. Having said that, we don't know if all those eligible will swim, AS soon as I know for sure I'll post an updae.

City of Leeds Open Day - 28th November 2010
The City of Leeds are holding an open/exhibition day in the diving pit at the John Charles Aquatics Centre on 28th November 2010, from 2pm until 4.30pm.
On the final session prior to the NAGs, the club are offering an open invite to all parents, family and friends and all coaches in the region to see all 19 routines that the girls are entering to swim at the NAGs in Gloucester. This is to give the girls a dress rehearsal in front of an enthusiastic and supportive audience and give everyone the chance to see the routines who can not travel to Gloucester, and to wish them luck.
We want you to make as much noise as you can - and yes vuvuzelas are allowed !!!
There will be a small raffle on the day, so any donations will be welcome and the event will see the launch of the City of Leeds 2011 Calender, which is hot off the press.
The girls will be swimming the routines in full competition kit, with hair gelled, and we have managed to secure the services of a professional photographer to take photo's of the event that you can purchase on the day. Please be aware that if you purchase on the day, some of the proceeds go to the club, but you must buy these on the day. He does upload pictures to his website for purchase after the event as well.
The same poolside crew that will be present at Gloucester will be helping the girls prepare in the lunchtime prior to the session following the usual morning training session.
Please invite as many as you can and there is no admission fee, although you may get your collar felt for a raffle ticket or a synchro definition t-shirt. (My ambition is to get rid of these by 2012 !)
All members are invited to attend as are all our regional club coaches - so please spread the word.
Time is now confirmed and we recommend you get there for 2pm, to get a seat get your raffle ticket and calender before we sell out. We have 19 routines to get through and so the first routine will begin at 2.30pm.

13-14 Team Changes
A small but quite significant change to the entrants list reported before is to the 13-14 Team.
As has been reported, the team had to rejig the routine on the morning of competition, but swam it superbly, finishing above Bristol to claim the Silver. It has been decided to keep the same format for Gloucester.
The team were Silver medalists at last years NAG's and so will be looking to go one better this year.

The Colour GOLD !!
Welllllll !
We got a sample of the GREEN Hoodie - and to tell you the truth I (along with a minority) seemed to think it looked ok. However, in general, the consensus of opinion from you the swimmers and parents was that the KIWI green was not particularly eye catching and after much debate and an impromptu committee meeting, a decision was taken to switch colours to the tried and trusted YELLOW.
So apologies to anyone expecting green, but we hope that you will not be disappointed.
The company we order from, INVOLUTION no longer does the Sunflower YELLOW of 2008. What they now focus on is the colour GOLD !!!
So, it seems a suitable match !!!
I would just like to add, INVOLUTION are a Leeds based company, and are heavily sponsoring these hoodies (seriously - they are !!!) as you well know from kit costs at your own club. The way I am getting these discounts is through future business and the fact that we have so many regional clubs involved. If your feeder club needs new kit, its worth considering. Let me know.

Mastering Synchro
We reported last month the successes Jeanne had in Sweden, well we now have pictures, not only of her on poolside, but showing off just what won her that prestigious silver medal.
News of the success made the Swimming Times as well. The British pairing representing Pudsey Pearls consisting of Jeanne and her partner Anita won the silver medal which was reported in the synchro section of the magazine.
Finishing 10th in the solo, Jeanne shows just how to do the perfect crane. Hands up who can boast these angles ?

The competition kit prices have now been released and are available to view on the club kit page.
The prices are based on cost price and so the club make no profit from this, hence why we believe they are very competitively priced. Please remember, all swimmers attending the nationals require the official club kit which is composed of;
Competition Hoodie £10
City of Leeds Tracksuit £35
Competition Shorts £7
Competition T-Shirt (Ladies Skinny fit or Polo fit) £5
Competition Bag £16
Parents can order club t-shirts or club hoodies as well so please get your order in by the 19th September when the order is finalised.
Why not add a Synchro Definition t-shirt to the order. They only cost £5 AND ALL PROCEEDS go to the club. Not only this but they look great on.
