Silver in the Free Team

Congratulations to the Free team who claimed SILVER.

With Rosie pulling out through illness, Step up Angelique who performed the role excellently. So much so it earned the team a podium finish and Silver medal.

The team were never going to close the gap on Bristol, as Bristol had two swimmers in first and second place in the figures, but the medal still needed to be won, and the team performed well. Spurred on by an announcement that the 12 & Unders had won Bronze just before their swim the Junior squad went to business.

Well done to all,

SILVER - City of Leeds
Jessica Ranson
Alice Dewhirst
Megan Knight
Sian Boyle
Rachel Lee
Evie Pedley
Angelique Richardson
Eloise Bray

Res: Abigail Linley
Withdrawn: Rosie Barrington

That's

1 Gold
1 Silver
5 Bronzes

So far...the combo team to come.

Medal success for 12 & Under Team

It's BRONZE for the 12 and Under team and swam a great routine, executed fantastically. This is a great achievement considering the team only had 4 members, the least of all four teams.

This meant they incurred more penalties than all other teams but still get a podium finish. A great effort and a deserving medal for

BRONZE - City of Leeds

Megan Ingle
Natalie Stephenson-Quayle
Georgia Fielding
Lauren Wyke

Junior Duet Results

It's GOLD and BRONZE for the club with the City of Leeds continuing to dominate in this event.

GOLD - Jessica Ranson & Rosie Barrington
BRONZE - Rachel Lee & Alice Dewhirst
6th - Sian Boyle & Megan Knight

All three routines were expertly executed and faultless. Amazingly performance from Rosie and Jess, considering Rosie is no way near 100% and has had to pull out of the free team this afternoon. The other pair of Alice and Rachel again was swam excellently and their 3 rd place finish is remarkable considering it's the first time swam. Sian and Megan attained the 4th highest routine score as well in their first execution of the duet in competition.

All routines were performed well, and to a high level of performance so again, well done to all.

Recreational Duet Result

The results are in for two more events, firstly the rec duet. In a good swim the City of Leeds pair just missed out on the medals finishing in fourth place. Defending their GOLD from last year was always going to be tough.

4th Angelique Richardson & Abigail Linley

12 & Under Solo Results

Results just in for the 12 & Under Solo

8th Natalie Stephenson-Quayle

She swam a perfect routine and based on her 14th place in the figures has moved up the field in the solo event. In an energetic and fast paced routine she swam a great routine and moved around the pool well with a great pool pattern.

Well done Natalie which I believe is here first solo swim in the Scottish Nationals.

13/14 Duet Score - Another BRONZE

Can I just say what a rapturous welcome Melissa and Abigail received before during and after their duet. So much so the refferee Mary Black had to cover her ears.

And they swam a great routine and won BRONZE for their efforts.

Well done to Melissa, Abigail and Rebecca who worked as a team to get the podium finish.

That's 4 Medals, 4 Bronzes. not a bad day at the office.

Medal Count so far....

For those trying to keep up, we now have 3 BRONZE medals in the bag. The 13/14 duet is in progress where Melissa/Abigail swim the duet.

Hopefully get another update out by end of day, and hopefully a medal to report for Melissa/Abigail and Rebecca.

Another Medal for City of Leeds

It's confirmed, Rachel holds onto Bronze for the routine. In a great swim we thought she could actually snatch the Silver, but it wasn't to be. So we have,

BRONZE - Rachel Lee
4th - Alice Dewhirst
6th - Megan Knight

Withdrawn - Rosie Barrington

Well done to both Alice and Megan, who both swam faultless routines to improve on their figure score positions.

Well done all.

Second BRONZE for the club

Amazing solos from all 3 CoL 13/14 age group swimmers this afternoon.nAll 3 improved their figure score finish, and Abigail stormed into 3rd Place to collect the squads second bronze of the day. Well done Abigail.

BRONZE - Abigail Devanny
4th - Melissa Knapton
5th - Rebecca Richardson

So well done to all 3 who all swam excellent solos.

1st Medal for City of Leeds

Results are starting to filter in and we are expecting more following Rachel's Bronze in figures this afternoon.

This is her first year in this age group and the 3rd place finish puts her in good contention for a medal.

Rosie, lying in 5th has withdrawn thorough illness, and Jess is not swimming a solo, so all hopes on Rachel to double her medal haul.

Junior Figure Scores

And the figure score improvement is seen in the Junior Figures as well where the club medal again, This time with a fantastic effort by Rachel Lee. Compared to last year though the scores across the board have improved, which gives the team more of a chance as well.

3 Rachel Lee
4 Jessica Ranson
5 Rosie Barrington
9 Alice Dewhirst
14 Eloise Bray
20 Sian Boyle
22 Megan Knight
26 Angelique Richardson
31 Evie Pedley
34 Abigail Linley

Some great results in here across all three competitions so congratulations to everyone. if I get chance I'll work out the average improvement.

WELL DONE !!

13 14 15 Figure Scores

Again a marked improvement over last year and out of a total of 50 swimmers, we have

5 Abigail Devanny
6 Melissa Knapton
11 Rebecca Richardson

So Abigail and Mellisa swim the duet and try to win a medal for all 3 competing. Well done to all 3 swimmers.

12 and Under Figure Scores

We've got some great figure scores coming up for you....firstly the 12 and Unders,

Out of 35 swimmers.....

14 Natalie Stephenson-Quayle
16 Georgia Fielding
18 Lauren Wyke
21 Megan Ingle

So great scores from all competing. No medal this year but these all contribute to the team score and put them in a good position.
